Proper camber adjustable top mounts going on there Pete - very nice 8) You gonna be utilising RWD Escort ones or fabricating something totally new?
Nice close fitting cage too - is the bloke fabricating it the one who does your subframes? Are you going to have the cage gusseted to the pillars and take braces out from the cage front legs through the bulkhead and to the turret tops?

Richard- they're similar, but obviously suited to the Polo so most of the parts are custom fabrication, the bearings themselves are the same I believe as older Escort stuff used on the rally cars etc.

Cage will be gusseted although should have ample pickup points for shell rigidity without them, I've only ask for small tags on the B pillars (if any) and small A pillar gussets. Will obviously be triangulated through to the front turrets but I want to keep stock bonnet hinges, the battery has had to move though...

The chap doing it also does our subframes, this car will eventually have adjustable TCA, adjustable top mounts, stage 3 frame and custom rear top mounts too... so I can get lost in a field of adjustability. But more importantly everything is now bolted properly together, so on track nothing moves  ;D

Some great work and fabrication!  8)  Though are you keeping the washer size the same on those 4 bolts on the top mounts, just seem a little small with only the edges forming any contact patch, perhaps a clamping plate is needed? ???

You ever seen "Infinity's" (gurds) Mk1 Golf build thread on ClubGTi, some inspiring frame work and bracing ideas, perhaps overkill but ideas all the same for future Polo Development perhaps?

Paul- the washers are purely to hold it together whilst welding is being done. Got some fancy fastenings to put on once it's been painted though  :) Not sure I can be arsed to lockwire them all together though- bit too 'belt and braces' for me  :D

Gurds is a good chap, used to chat to him at No-Rice a few years back, although not been down that neck of the woods for a while now.

Ah studs.. they should be a legal requirement  :D I cant stand the poxy wheel bolt design!

Where you source them from, i was looking a good while back at these and they arnt cheap to say the least.. There seem to be mixed and very strong opinions about the best companies and equipment to use when it comes to stud conversion kits!

Bildon Motorsport in the USA.

Jez the main things to look out for are rolled threads, a turned end (easier to start the nut) and a shoulder to tighten up against.

Not cheap (£120 for a set of 18) but worthwhile! Wheel changing takes seconds, not hours now  :)

yeah, have the same studs on mine. almost essential with spacers and no location screws in brake discs!

yeah ive heard bildon are very good.. will have to invest at some point. Did you get them from bildon directly or is there a UK supplier?

Bildon directly mate, make sure your card can cope with American transactions...
