if only it was that simple mate!

Why isn't it? You know you can run abit more boost than 1 bar on the standard mapsensor right? I  have mapped 16vT's with G60 digifant running 1,4 bar (20 psi)

No doubt- but to have any resolution in the map the 200kPa sensor is only good for 1bar. Also by running above this you'll be streaching the diaphram too...

Basically don't be a pikey for the sake of a £35 sensor  ;)

well i had a rallye that had a 250kPa map sensor in standard so it could run 20psi - i have a 200kPa so i know it wont!

well i have been talking to andy about mapping this and he is suggesting that i go back to the standard cam for getting it through an MOT, before he can map it properly. i am tempted to do this now. Mr Pitt truely left me up sh1t creak without a paddle - WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!

Mines got the 1341 eaton cam in and it got through a MOT just fine. No problems with the emissions whatsoever and it was running like a right bag of nails!

does anyone know what the differences are between the 1272 eaton cam and the 1341 eaton cam? is it stamped on the end?? would a 1341 cam run in a 1272 engine and vice versa??? im wondering if i have a 1341 cam and thats why it wont run in my car. is their any marks  on the 1341 that aint on the 1272 cam.

also i spoke to steve pit about my cam just after they stopped trading and he said the cylinder pressures with the standard cam are silly high thats why they made the eaton cam. i dont know how much of that is true but he had no reason to lie to me

The 1272 eaton cam that i sent to Robin had no markings on it iirc. I'm not sure if the 1341 item did either :???:

But yours is a '91 car Jon, and doesn't have to sit the catalyst emissions test - so the limits are much wider than for later cars.

yes he said is was allowing overlap - so the boost was momentarily skimming over the psitons to help reduce some of the pressure and cool the cylinder down by pushing the hot air out. well thats what he said to me anyway - but he said a lot of things
