PSD EATON KIT - What boost pressure does this create?
« on: April 14, 2010, 09:28:40 am »
Hiya guys
as in the title really, cant ask the man who designed this as he got kidnapped by martians or some other reason for his disappearance.
I need to know what boost this setup makes?
im guessing its the 15psi the map sensor could cope with- but have a feeling it may be more. obviously im only appealing to about 6 others who have this setup as there rocking horse sh1t

Cheers

doesn't seem to make much sense to me to not go for more than 1 bar, otherwise why bother with the eaton at all?  It's going to depend what size pulley you have, imagine beavis used various ones depending on what the person wanted at the time.

why go for the eaton? ermmm it looked good :-S as silly as that answer is it's the truth.
iv got photos of 2 kits and I have mine and the pulleys are all the same size hayesey. i just ordered the kit - there was no options or anything like that.

just heard back from giorgio he is running a BVH and it's 11psi on the gauge. it's got to be a bar!

best bet is to measure the crank pulley and the charger pulley and see if the sizes (or at least the charger rpm/engine rpm) are the same as anyone else with an eaton kit fitted.  Or at least this will tell you if yours will make more or less boost than Lance's or whoever else can post up their measurements.

well my crank i believe is a standard PSD toothie 1. it has 53 teeth. and the charger pulley has 24 teeth.

i have just been in touch with "LregG" and he says his was running 19psi with a 51mm throttle.
i have just gone over some old photos and he has 24 teeth on his charger pulley by the looks of it.
i have asked him for a couple of photos to confirm this.

EDIT! - just found this on Club polo - someone called milgo was selling it

its the same - after painstakingly counting them sodding teeth - 53 & 24
