Cheers James.

P1RCK - Timeless Car Designs in Germany, I was going to do a group buy, but as usual number dwindled. Definitely more cost effective to get several panels at once (I got 5 panels at once) to save money on postage.

Cheers

Pete

Engine and gearbox out:

I've had enough of breaking drivetrain components, so am fitting a larger 02J gearbox- although the list of modifications required is long, I'm hoping it will be worth it, tuned 20v don't seem to bother them until 400bhp, so I'm hoping a little more than half that shouldn't bother it too much.

Time to get the grinder and welder out  :)

Look forward to seeing your progress, looks bigger in photo's than real life.
Hope you get on well with the 'tougher, stronger' gearbox option!

Noice! What's involved in fitting the bigger box then? custom shafts, mounts, bell housing adapter, linkage? etc etc?
I have been thinking about the box's that the skoda Felicia kit cars ran... though I'm now skint cause I bought a house and a Talbot Sunbeam. Doh

Lots of chassis cutting, bespoke; mounts, clutch, adapter plate, speedo drive, driveshafts, sump, oil pump, downpipe etc...

Skoda kit car that was the hewland gearset? I didn't think they could take much torque (only N/A in the Skoda) Talbot sounds like fun!

Wheels are good, although I've never tried to get that resin stuff off them...  :D

Look forward to seeing it progress! Yeah the Skoda kit car. 6speed dog box at first made by Hewland, then I think Skoda motorsport made their own versions for the latter evolutions - I think the 1600 vw based ones

The sunbeam was spur of the moment thing, guna be a full group A ti historic rally car! got all the right bits... skip brown group A homligated engine etc etc...

Pete!!! How you been?
Right I'm seriously interested I'm this golf gearbox conversion, soon I will have the space to cut chassis legs and all that other fun stuff, if your going to make a conversion kit for people to buy through ppp I'm extremely interested
What sort of gearbox's are we limited to here? I'd like cable change, hydro clutch for a pedal box and 6 speed, as well as being able to handle the torque increase, what you thinking?
Will have the money too mate
Thanks :)

Would you be able to just change the bell housing over? Or is that not so easy ?

Even if you can, driveshaft flanges will be wrong and in the wrong place. Will be cable change and hydro clutch
