Ouch, proper test slut this is turning out then! Presuming you are going to save the what you can from the gearbox, I've got a spare casing you can have for cheap. Might even have a broke AHD i can raid a 3rd gear from too  :)

I currently have 7- 3 of them with diffs in (2 plate, one ATB), the rest standard or in need of repair!

Anthony- Maybe, but I did some sums today, it would be cheaper to drop a big block and gearbox in than just a box on its own.

Will get another ox made up and see what I can do to make things stronger.

i love those Bergen cup arches and they look perfect in black. what effect does that low offset wide wheels have on handling ?? is the steering alot heavier but the car in more stable because of the wider track ?

In theory, you increase track width, you make something more stable (it rolls less), car seems very positive on slicks, it's totally different, everything (the plate diff, solid bushes, solid top mounts, cup car suspension) which doesn't work on the road, comes together beatutifully on track.

It's hard to drive (I'll upload a vid) as the rate of torque increase is so violent when it comes on boost, I'd like to do some work on this when I get time, overall I'm getting there with it, just need a decent gearbox (this one was crap from the start) for some reliability.

After that I have few excuses left, all down to driver talent (or lack of!).

A vid and some pics from the other week. Think this was my quickest run, but still missed 3rd twice.

Tow Car & Track Car:

Will upload a vid from inside the car tomorrow, can see how much it pulls around when accelerating.

Currently in the process of buying a house (with double garage  ;D) So not sure how much progress will be made this year.

Ah thats shit about the gearbox mate, hope it didnt ruin your day too much! Car is looking great and looked like it was much faster down the straight that the mk1 20v t golf. I assume the slicks make it torque steer under accelation a fair bit more than roadies?! What was your fastest time if you dont mind disclosing the information? ;D

Generally the car feels much better on the slicks, and tracks are always less cambered than the road, so it's much more well behaved. Fastest was 29sec I think, I didn't do one lap without missing 3rd (at least once!) also circuit slicks aren't the best for one hot lap, but it was a good fun day, very relaxed.
