Matt- I was lucky and not gone through the nerve, tendon, bone, or nail bed... somehow!

Right PITA as I wanted the car done soon!

That picture sent a shiver down my spine! :o

But your rocker cover looks awesome, I was thinking about doing that to mine but think I may have missed the boat now :(

Yoofy that thumb of yours looks a treat! That will hurt for months/maybe years after it heels. I cut right into the side of my finger (at the tip right into my nail) on a jig saw when holding a worktop not so long ago and although it heeled really well, where it cut is really sensitive when you touch it!

On a brighter note that cover looks wicked!   :)

Thumb has healed nicely now  :)

Got Vik's 1341cc to build before I start on mine, but it can wait for abit as I've decided not to get it back on the road for 2010, but aim to be up and running by Jan 2011 for a year of trackdays.

New seats:

New tyres (6):

Should be some updates soon regarding the car  :)

"Should be some updates soon regarding the car  "

That was, quite clearly, bollocks.

I'll get my finger out in a few weeks.

Other than sourcing some parts, we've not done owt on it! Plan is to get an engine in it next year, funds permitting.

That's when the extra 30bhp comes in  ;) :P

I wanted the chassis to last for a good few years now, fuel tank is coming out and rear axle off for a good inspect/ repair any nasties lurking underneath.

The Mk3 is starting to suffer in the same areas as the Mk1 had (rear valance, rear of sills etc) so I wanted to sort it before it got bad.

Interior is now in primer, I'll still be fitting carpets and headlining, so don't need to paint everywhere.

The main focus of this rebuild was suspension and chassis (along with a little more power) so cup car suspension kit is on, along with Polo PP adjustable track control arms, our own top mounts, and of course a subframe.

I'm going to strip the subframe of paint and have it crack tested- continued testing at Polo-PP!

Some general pics from yesterday:

Paul- Blue Mk1 hasn't been touched recently, as Andy says we've got a powertrain sorted, so next thing is to save up some pennies and get it done.

With the size/mass of my head, carpets and headlining are the least of my worries!  :D
