As Lance said I got it from a friend cheaply, new from Pace they're very expensive. I'll contact them and see if they'll do a group discount if several people are interested?

Lance- can you PM me about Salzmann nuts please  ;)

Will update this thread with GTi Fesitval info soon  :P

Update:

Few pics from GTi Festival, and a couple of videos now  :-)

Setting up:

Warming up:

Lining up:

And some videos:

UK's Quickest FWD Polo

Polo vs RS4

I'd love to own a black RS4 one day, but hopefully I can hold off for a little longer now  :-D  RS4 was 471bhp but had a few niggling issues- although still hauled hard all day.

Now have a new unit, which Robin and I share, so can work on my car (and a few customers) in peace.

Recent activity:

Subframe is now over 2 years old- trackdays, 1/4mile events, big slicks and lots of torque- apart from a little surface rust it still looks new  8)

Engine currently out- was going to re-do the brake lines before Polo Show, but not got much time, just a quick freshen up.

Winter should bring the final stage of development for this car, then I can start on the Mk1 finally. Custom cage, proper top mounts, and some mroe turbo revisions will be done.

Can 2010 see a G40 in the 11s?

Recent updates:

Stripping the engine bay and stich welding it up, prepping ready for a cage too, won't be FIA certified but will be to a suitable standard that if required I can get it signed off and go racing.

All for now  :P

Carried on with putting my seat in, last thing to do before it goes off for a cage.

Made the mounts:

The rails where made from 28mm CDS with some 3mm metal bent round- the mounts are made from 3mm plate with 2mm sides.

Some tough bits, one of the hardest was welding a 3mm thick plate to a 0.5mm bit of body.

Et viola:

Took quite a while with jumping in/out the car, adjusting the height and position of the seat, eventually got it right.

Seat is actually 'Magnum- recaro copy?' but become race spec with a Sparco cushion to support my melon head :)

Going to book a trailer and hopefully should be going for a cage weekend after next :)

Haha, the whole interior is being stripped once the cage is in and painted properly, only primered to protect it from the outside for abit.

I wish my car was a cheap bit of ass  :'(

Yeah- one of the reasons I used 1.5mm plate on the seat rail area prior to welding the 3mm mounts in.

Cage next  :)

Looking good mate, seat runners look spot on there, bit better than my slightly bodged versions but hey they are there. Where you getting your cage done? Somewhere up your ends i guess...?

Chap who does the subframes for us, been doing cages for years too. Will take a while but should be top quality although MIG welded together he's really neat and it should be just as strong, still deciding what bars I want where etc.

Yes yes yoofy!!

That looks awesome, Henry's old emtec kit isnt it.. Garrett GT2554R by any chance? Tight on clearance on the downpipe/manifold, have you had a flexi pipe put on the end of the downpipe or exhaust?

Sure the cage will be well sweet mate. Cant wait to see this once its done! Gonna be one hell of a complete package!!
