Other side scraped clean now. Gonna empty the engine bay and remove suspension next as the engine bay is first in line for painting.

sleag40

Ready to drop the engine and box out now. Biggest ballache so far was getting the headlights out - all the screws were buggered so had to use mole grips on the engine bay side.

Done some more stripping while I wait for time on the ramp to remove engine and box. Doors and tailgate stripped bare, side glass, seat belts and rear shelf/speaker supports out. Once the screen and motor are out the inner wings, battery tray and sills will be POR15'd and the engine bay will be prepped for paint.

sleag40

Sills ground back to metal today - thankfully no surprises to report!

sleag40

Sills and battery tray treated with POR15 today. Hopefully engine coming out tomorrow.

sleag40

More POR15 action today. Engine bay prep next.

Theres a few rusty bits on the drivers side - nothing serious though. Gearbox side is pretty good. Once the rust is treated and seam sealed it should be good to go for paint.

sleag40

More scraping today - not much more to come off now - think that the tedious stuff is all but done. Paint and seam sealer still to do before it goes to the man Bez.

sleag40

Seam sealer next on the list.

I hope so mate - many hours going into this!

Today has mostly been about cleaning all the wax and shit off the inside of the wings and treating the bits of surface rust.

Seam sealer done. Question is, which one of a thousand other jobs to do next?

Etches

Looks awesome mate, some graft has gone into this!

Cheers man - its nice to reach a point where I can see that progress is being made. Should be getting a lot bluer soon!

sleag40

Cleaned and treated both sides of the slam panel and headlight brackets. Pretty tedious!
