Sod the house, sell it, I need one of them in my life! 8) ;D

Assuming going on a 1.5, one would assume that the stronger scroll would be good on a motorsport application?  Though would the seals still be an issue on track day/motorsport thrashing?  As most racing applications seen at present have all been berg cup hill climbers.

Love the Bi-polo they have - 250bhp at the wheels! :o

Also they've used a golf mk4 1400 16v head, wonder what they did to it to fit as i thought (and i may be incorrect) that the waterways where the problem?  Although the berg boys have had 130016v for ages i guess.  Surprised there's not more people doing 16v conversions now.

If the 1.4 16v head on a 1300 is the same issue as the 2.0 16v head on the 1800 block, then it's just a water hole needs part welding over. We fitted one to my girlfriends gti engine and fitted bike carbs. It ran sweet as a nut and was an easy mod to do :)

Would be interesting to se the head up close and compare it to a head gasket....

Somone on club polo was selling a 16v conversion head that had been welded up. Dunno if any one bought it in the end dnt think it did.
Whats the main benifits of 16v I know they breathe more but doesn't it move you powerband higher up the rev range or is that down to cam choice abd tuning ?

Most of those on that site just seem to be heavily ported chargers to give more boost, rather than much remanufacturing.

Here is a true G45 for sale 8)

I guess the easiest way is to get a 16v head and start comparing them, where to weld up etc.

From Roettele Racing (translated):
Quote
We are building a 1.3L 16V Polo G40 with G60 charger engine block and crankshaft is original G40 pistons
are custom made by Mahle forged pistons, our oil jets, we have built.
Compression is 8.5:1. Charging pressure about 1 0.2 to 1, 5 bar with G60 charger and our flat-belt drive,
Cylinder head is of the 1,4 L 16V Golf 4 with modified water connecting (Polo G40) and the distributor (Polo G40).
Suction tube is fashioned custom-built with G60 throttle body, exhaust pipe from the 16V on the G40 Cat
We are curious what matters hp at the wheel. Background of the action is a Umbaukitt for the road
and possibly a stricter racing version with 1420ccm engine capacity.

Sorry for taking this OT, split and move this if you feel it appropriate.   ;D

dont think so because on a mk3 the com chamber is in the piston but on a mk4 its in the head i think

looking at the the crank pully, water pump and tentioner will all have the be spaced out will they not so they all line up with the cam shaft pully as that sits way out on the outside of the pully for the 16v head. it would be a bugger to squeeze that into a mk3 engine bay

I wish I had the cash! That looks awesome!

That said, surely that's going to be a gearbox killer?
