hi all im looking it to getting this mod done but i heard on here somwhere that psd never quite got them to work right? has anyone got a 51mm throttle body on their car? who done the mod for you ? and do they work right?

thanks in advance

I've got a PSD one, it quite often sticks open at causing the revs to hunt at idle.  I know others with the same throttle body that do the same thing too.  It's not a massive issue as a blip of the throttle sorts it out but I can imagine it'd be annoying on a car used daily.

Not had a problem with my PSD 49,5mm TB, well after the first trip though. I got the one from Liams car, and he had driven it for quite some time. The throttle got stuck at wot whilst me and Beavis was chasing a Cossy Saph. Not a kool thing when I tried braking for the roundabout lol

so thier is an issue with them but its just to butterfly sticking a lil? that should be easy enough to sort with a lil fettling

Exactly the same a Hayesey, got a PSD 51mm one which occasionally sticks but no big deal...

What causes it to stick open?

Speak to juan off the forum. He got in contact with me about 51mm conversions.

Hope he doesnt mind but this is what he said to me in an email:

*EDIT*

Juan is banned from this forum, as he is a crook, and he was told he could use the forum but not trade (as i personally had an issue with him ripping me off), and you have just shown us that he disregarded what we said, and continued to PM people offering his shonky services. - Dknight

ive edited your post above mate, if he sells them and they work then that is all good for the people who have bought them, but if you try getting any after sales support you get a very narky rude little bastard, who will no doubt tell you to go F*uck

My views on the issue with these, if it was a simple fix to fix the sticking open problem, surely psd would not have gone to such trouble and then stumbled at the last easy hurdle?

be interesting to see what causes it tho

i never contacted him through this site. im in 2 minds as to go through getting one from him or not now but if i pay through paypal and he dont deliver i can always claim my money back through them cant i?

DKnight

yeah you can claim it back sure, if you cover yourself, it doesnt really matter!

poloeatonm45

can i still claim if i send the money stating that it is a gift? as he siad say it is a gift so he does not get charged for it???? or am i better off adding a few quid more and doing it right

Ah thankyou for bringing that issue up as i was not aware of this. Thanks DKnight.

DKnight

ah the boy never changes, he is doing it as a service, if you click as a GIFT you get no chance of ever claiming it back.

poloeatonm45

i have emailled him asking if i can send the money via paypal as a service instead of a gift as at least then i have some cover if it all goes tits up

I have never had an issue with this later, and this was in 2001 or 2002. Mine is slightly smaller though
