good stuff, looks like you're doing a proper repair job on it too rather than just slapping a bucket of bog on it  ;D

Fred

Good on you Justin Lad.
Looks like your doing a fine Job.
So glad you never opted for a re-shell.
Look forward to seeing the end result.

Fred.

Just to keep you up todate!

Latest pic:

All it needs now is filler, paint. Done.

Passed MOT on monday, need to swap the rear bumper with my old 1.05 fox and put my bargin 99p brand new front bumper on (doesn't need it but hey!)

p.s going back to the fox has been surprisingly brilliant!

hayesey

awesome, looks like good work that.  Glad to see you've got the metal almost flat rather than trowelling in a ton of bog

Fair play mate, just read all of this thread, i thought from the start that i could repair that (have own bodyshop) , looks asif youve done a good job aswell.

supercharged spaniel

nice to see another g40 saved!

Keeping you updated!

Looks good, am amazed how its coming out.

And oh, all credit of the repair goes to my dads spray man dave, luckily a perfectionist but is VERY good at what he does (he is the guy in the photo earlier on in the thread!)

supercharged spaniel

Looks great that!! Week done to Dave!

Looks spot on nice work. why not as you have got £1300 coming any way not give it a full respray blow over because its never going to look right if you just blend it in and having you dads m8 dave do the work your going to save lots of £££ to then spend on hardware for the G.

Justin14100

Well tbh I would love to, but my dad is about to buy a house and try not to have a mortgage! so the £1300 is going on that.
Saving up my pennies while its off the road (spending less on fuel!) and will get some bits then.
Latest 2 bargins: 99p front bumber (new) of ebay and £20 for the headlight panel (new)

supercharged spaniel

how the F**k did you bag a new bumper for 99p?   :D

Justin14100

Saw it with a few min to go, not a VAG one I dont think.

Funny thing was the guy I picked it up from said it was on before, sold for 99p as well but the buyer couldn't collect it!
the seller has a lovely GT, mint in silver - almost standard, had all the options apart from heated seats and split rear seats. was lovely! (made me want headlight washers and foglights though!)
