I would of thought that being bare alloy it will rot as quick as any,
especially if winter salt gets at it.
If i wer to get 1 then i`d find a mate who works where they
anodise and get it done.
£160 + 15% vat aint too bad really as what does an original
cost from Vag these days.

aluminum is a better conductor of heat so just the material is more efficient than copper.  Also the size and amount of tubes going through it is important too, these have a lot of smaller tubes than a standard rad which means more tube surface area which means it's able take more heat out of the water.
