Hi I've been meaning to start a thread for a while but haven't had time. I bought my g40 about 6 months ago just as a run around

After having the car on the road a couple of weeks mot was due.
So I decided this was the time to take it off the road and sort out a few rust issues that need
a bit of attention.

New sill panels going on

Bit of patch work

One Side down onto the other :) working for a vw body shop helps (spot welder makes life so much easier)

Weeman

Nice job! Where did you get the full sill panel from?

An yeah having the correct tools makes life a lot easier

P1rik

Cheers

I got the sill panels from a place called carz2

You will have to get the polo breadvan sill panels thought because they dont make them for the mk3 coupe anymore but the breadvan sills are exactly the same from year 81-90

This week I have been trying to track down some new rear arch panels to repair my old rotten ones but unfortunatly I've had no lucky with this. so I have gone about making my own using universal repair sections.

Rolled arches

Tried a set of g60 steels for size

P1rik

Polo is now of to Huxley Motorsport for rollcage

P1rik

Rollcage is all welded in and looks great wasn't to sure weather to go for a cross or a diagonal on the door bars so I have just gone on diagonal for now maybe add an extra bar later on.
Big thanks to Huxley Motorsport

Some nice repair work going on there.
The roll cage looks very nicely done, especially the welding.
