Toothed kit the only way, V-Belts are awful. Sometimes I forget G40s even have V-Belts.

How do you guys go on for belt life on the toothies? Do you find you have to replace / tighten often?

Oh and how much Alex?

My last one did 6 months, some last long some don't - its a 20 min job so I don't really mind.

If you hit the rev limit once or twice thats enough to strip 1 or 2 teeth, then the rest come off after about 50 miles if your lucky. My last 2 stripped all the teeth and i drove 50 miles without the charger actually running.

I went through a phase where i was replacing them every 2 months.

I need to pick up a spare just for my sanity. But my last belt lasted five years and it was fine when it came off.

If the toothed belt is your worst casualty from hitting the rev limiter you've got off lightly tbh!

Hm every 2 months :o  :o

i would like 7500miles from my standard V belts on a 68mm pulley. (its holding it for already 9000KM) but the belts slip every time at 5500RPM+
even when i use anti slip beltspray. without the spray its 5000-5200 RPM when just tightenned :(  the plus side is that i dont / am not able to mistread my charger :p

since it is my dayly/only car (not that i use it every day) i m gonna try shorter belts & a new steel pulley (this one is aluminium and worn in after 9000KM)

i hope this will help. im running a 140hp chip, the charger is done also 9K KM ago..

The beauty of V-belts is they slip a little top end taking the brutality out of it when you hit  the rev limiter. Toothed belts are the way forwards though!

Apparently they dont go too well. I know some G60 owners and they dont go toothed, not even mad mikes g60 polo is toothed. All run 6pk pulleys.
