Which gasket/seal is which
« on: January 29, 2011, 03:49:14 pm »
Right now got to the point that i can start to build up part of my eaton engine.

But as i am doing from complete scratch (i started off buy buiing a bare block)  so i got no reference really and the haynes manual is shite as usual.

going to be ordering these from Bartek

http://www.bar-tek-tuning.com/cgi-bin/cosmoshop/lshop.cgi?action=showdetail&wkid=5893&ls=en&nc=1296313499-6284&rubnum=&artnum=2140046&file=74&gesamt_zeilen=0Tsuche--g40

obviously i know the sump gasket and the black seal on the left and the two cranckshaft oil seals, just want to know the other seals in the top right on the picture and the silver ones behind the black one.

cheers

The o-rings (from the biggest to smaller):
1)Water pump seal
2)#15A (from etka) If i remember, G40s do not need that seal, just use silicon.
3)The water tube behind the water pump that connects wp and thermostat housing

The 2 silver and the black one are the same seal #8 (from etka).
All the 1272cc engines have the same block seal kits. You'll find out that you will need 1 of the 3 seals.

Why don't you just buy the gasket & seal kit from GSF? Will prob be about £20
