steering rack assembly ect.

orite guys, got alot of play in my steering so goin to fit a new rack and check over the other components at the same time.  what am wondering is can you remove the rack and so on with the engine in place, what sort of job is it?

If you take of the inlet manifold it's a piece of cake to replace the rack...
