Jon,

is this cam ok for standard 1272 block or not.? if not what cam should I take ?

what specification hs your cam? (how many degrees? etc.)

this bracket is modified G40 bracket or it's specialy designed for Eaton? if specialy designed where can i buy this thing or fm which car can I take it off?

Tks in advance
Damjan

i have a standard head on mine at the moment. im not sure what spc my cam is. it originally came from PSD who have ceased trading :( there is a camshaft for the eaton 1272cc made by PSD but theyre not that easy to find. The bracket is just a modified PY bracket. you'd need to put your charger upto the bracket to see where the mountings need to be changed.

and can I use standard G40 cam for eaton charger or not?

vwmk3jon

Im not 100% sure if itll run smoothly although ive heard of some people trying one.

eaton brackets have a tensioner on them

Ah i see, so if i were to fabricate a bracket myself i'd have to add some sort of tensioner to it?

tensioner, idler pulley, full set of pulleys and a fucking 45x62x15 bearing which is impossible  ::)

BrettG40

Lol, words of experience i take it..... ;D

vwmk3jon

Stupid question georgio but which bearings that? I can check with my local supplier if you want? Managed to get a seal from them rather cheap (£3 odd)

My pulley bearing don't look in bad shape. I'll keep hold of those bearing dimensions and see what I can find.

you can use the standard g40 cam thats what i use in mine although its not ideal steve from pitstop told me the cylinder pressures are crazy high using the standard cam. i have an eaton cam for mine but for the life of me i cannot get it to run right on the car

just out of curiosity - isnt the eaton bracket the one that people used to put mk2 golf 8v gti cambelt tensioners on?

never seen one but I can get a pic of the set-up easily enough.

Tks Steven,

but how can cylinder pressuer be so big? I don't understand? Presure can be high as much as Eaton blow in it. + cylinder pressure but if my logic is correct the same thing is will all chargers or turbo. if pressure is so big dump valve can be put in circle or you can remove boost return pipe nd in that case pressure will go out in the air

Tks for explanation
Damjan

vwmk3jon

Steven, are you running a big Valve head? Mine seems to have more boost than it can handle and the revs kinda bog down killing any kind of acceleration! I've gotta check if all my pipes are insitu and not leaking tho.

poloeatonm45

i was running a ported head but no a big valve one but it was only really lightly ported  had no probs with the running of the car except it was getting a lil hot for my liking but i think that  is just because i was using a standard polo rad and only a 13 row oil cooler.

hope this helps
steve

vwmk3jon

Sweet, cheers.

I'm thinking my ECU's fried :(
