Excessive oil out of boost return in throttle body?
« on: August 08, 2009, 12:40:34 am »
Just brought my first G40, after driving back i opened the engine bay to find a lot of oil.
Why is this? The car is missing the recirculation pipe which takes it back to the supercharger.
The car has a chip, g60 injectors, gt inlet manifold, decat ect.
Does the charger need oil in the intake to lubricate it or is it just a straight oil feed in and outlet into the sump?
Thanks
Ben

so if that's the case does it mean there is a bust seal somewhere because there is a lot of oil coming out of there?

Sounds like it. Any idea when the charger was last serviced? Jabba issue a dated service doc.

sounds like its oil seals in the charger, when mine whent it started with a little oil coming though, then just shed loads. 8000 miles it should be fine, get in touch with who ever serviced it

Hate to sound like the Angel of Doom, but if it was Jabba then their warranty is time limited at three months (six months if they fit it). Don't know what they think about the removal of the re-circulating system, but it's something they'd probably point the finger at. I'd keep that quiet.

g-laderseite.de sells seals... but you really need it apart to see what's gone.
