have you tried searching as this comes up quite a lot.

the main thing is to check when the charger was last serviced.  If it's due then you need to budget at least £300 for that.  Otherwise, just check the whole shell for rust.  Battery tray is very common but at this age so are sills where the trim is riveted on.

depends what size pulley it is being run on.  If it's a standard pulley then I'd probably want it looking at every 40k or 5 years.  If it's a 65mm pulley then every 20k at the most and probably every two years irrespective of mileage.

You don't need to add any lube to it unless the boost return is removed in which case every 1000 miles give it a couple of quick sprays.

Bear in mind I don't think repair panels are available any more for that battery tray so a repair piece will need making.

you want to get it fixed because for one thing it'll leak water all over your feet and carpets and the rust will only spread throughout the bulkhead if you don't stop it.

Take a squint at the fuel pump and filter location; it's a bit of a rust trap. Put a bit of pressure on the boot floor above it too. It should have been undersealed but I've seen a few in scrapyards with holes in the boot floor at that point.
