W5DPO replacement
« on: July 13, 2018, 08:34:44 pm »
The W5DPO is GBP 45 apiece over here in Hungary and of course it is for order only... so I'm looking for a replacement spark plug.

I've read through almost every possible topic in Google, tecdoc... all. :)

Now it seems to me that the NGK BPR7EIX is the correct replacement. I'm not trying to be a cheapskate, but that GBP 180 has better place than some overpriced spark plugs.
2 yrs ago it was GBP 15. I don't know what happened. Is that not available...?

So, will I be fine with the  BPR7EIX? :)

Thanks!

you will be OK with BPR7EIX, in fact some people prefer them to the W5DP0 (which I don't think are available any more anyway, they got replaced with a slightly different part code).

I use BPR8EIX in mine which are equivalent to W4DP0.  Only really necessary if you are running a lot of boost (e.g. turbo instead of supercharger).

Thanks!

A read through a gadzillion topics :) ... and even the mentioned BPR7EV went out of production. Good to know there is something to replace with that works well. :)

I wrote a thread on here not long ago about Bosch plugs as I thought I'd found a modern Bosch equivalent. I'll see if I can find what I'm talking about.....
