My Big Spec Polo, sadly breaking
« on: August 26, 2017, 11:14:44 pm »
Due to engine problems, I’ve decided that i can’t keep spending more money on my polo so I’m breaking everything from it and all my spares.

Most of you will know about the entire engine/turbo build as its in yoof’s build thread. This engine is a great engine (don’t get me wrong) but due to ignition timing too advanced and potential fuel problems, I’ve det the head beyond use but the big valves are still useable, 1 has a few dimples from set but will be fine. The block is fine and no damage. Piston 1 and 2 crowns do have a small amount of damage but they might still be useable. Therefore i plan to sell the block complete still but at a cheap price. If the pistons are fine then you’ve got a forged block cheap (don’t forget this has forged rods), if not, i’m led to believe you can buy them individually so still your on to a winner. Speaking to me engine builder he has said its best to change the big end shells as well. So now the engine problem is listed here, I will list the price of all my parts below.

Please note that everything really does have to go, make me an offer and try me. I’ve got over 8k worth of parts to go!

So here we go:

Engine:

Newman 268/268 cam £120

51mm throttle body with inlet ported £150

Custom metal boost pipe with welded flange specifically for Tial Q dump valve £100

Tial Q 50mm v-band dump valve   £120 (if bought with boost pipe above £200)

PSD front mount intercooler with lower brace support bar £300

Garret GT2554R turbo, still like new, no cracks, i’ll check mileage but its done a few k at most £400

Forge actuator £80 (if bought with turbo £450)

Emtec turbo manifold £400

Water and oil lines for turbo £70 but will be included with turbo for free.

Stainless downpipe £100

All boost pipes will be included with the intercooler

If someone wants a turbo kit as such, i will sell the air filter, turbo, actuator, manifold, oil and water lines, all boost pipes, intercooler, tial D/V, 51mm tb modded for turbo, newman cam, fuel rail with injectors, downpipe and exhaust for £1900 ovno. This would cost you over 3k to buy this all new and its not far off new. This will see you over 200bhp. Ideally i’d like to sell as a kit. May consider splitting if there is interest.

Fuelling and ignition:

315cc injectors £100

Alloys and race tyres:

Speedline alloy wheels 14x100 6j with 1k covered toyo T1R’s £250

Drag racing Mickey Thompson ET Drag 20.0 x 8.0 14 with weller steels £220

Interior:

EGT gauge £20

Stack Pro control stepper boost gauge £120

Pics to follow, most of the engine ones are in yoofs build thread.

Sad to hear you're breaking, you moving onto something else?

Is the Momo wheel the Momo Team 300mm and does it come with a boss?

Thanks

Gaz - yes i will send the box on a pallet. I need the get this off the car and give it a check to make sure its selecting all the gears still. Im even looking to get a mate to fit it to his car and test it properly before selling.

Jester - I think it is a team one. I will literally pull it off the steering column and sell it with the boss.

Thanks

-Brand new gutter trims, still in original packaging and believe these were the last ones bought from VW £80

-G40 gear box ATV, was opened up to see inside it and remove diff. Was not getting 2nd when we removed this from ant’s car a few years ago. Might just need a new syncro. £50

-Great condition steering arms £50

The radiator doesn’t have the lower mounting points for the support it sits into but i made up brackets for mine as it was sitting on a custom lower bar. But thats with the i/c not rad so it would need a mount or bracket being made. Mine literally just hung from the top on brackets.

The ECU, chip and loom, I’m planning to sell that with the turbo kit but someone is interested in the whole conversion kit but if they change their mind i will let you know and you can have it all.

And yes, i will post to norway. I’ve posted to norway before so know the paperwork thats involved.

Interested in the subframe and coilovers if the prospective buyer doesn't complete. It would be good to know the age / usage that these have both had.

Thanks,

Adam
