bit of a silly question but am i okay in reusing the crank pulley bolt? as it isn't a stretch bolt is it?
i know the g60 engines had problems with snapping but this was because they are stretch bolts.
it only confuses me because if you buy one from bartek it says for g60 and g40 but im sure g40 don't use stretch bolt like g60 do, and am i right in saying the g40 us 6 point bolt and g60 use 12 point

thanks :)

I'd certainly change it if I removed it. Not worth the risk. Alex had a crank pulley fail which killed his entire engine a couple of years ago.

Okay mate just need to find the right one then as the one most places sell are stretch bolt for g60 even tho they say g40 compatible with I'm sure they are not stretch bolt on g40s

Pm peteg40 on here he supplies them. I replaced the actual crank pulley too, he also does those.

Yeah, you'll get your crank bolt from VW for like £6 I think. I know it's around that price.
