Charger to intercooler port damage
« on: July 10, 2013, 01:03:35 am »
Morning chaps,

I took my supercharger off, and found these nicks in the side, one looks like wear, but the other like something has twatted it.

Can it be repaired or are they fairly easy to get hold of?

This damage can be welded easily. Go to a company builing/repairing car radiators. If they won't do this for some tip, fetch a new outlet... should be cheap.

Is it easy to tell if its ported. I haven't opened it up yet. So a simple weld will suffice?

Cheers

I've still got an outlet elbow taking up storage space in the garage:

Only asking a tenner + postage for it.  It's not ported though.

This is a fair value, add half an hour porting and finished.

I am opening up the charger tomorrow evening to see if it has been fiddled with. I got no service history or receipts when i bought it, so no clue as to what has been done.

Cheers, I will drop you a PM tomorrow or Friday morning.

Yeah it was making a mess all over the intercooler. So what does an early full blend realistly achieve?

And do you have seals and belts in stock Pete?

Cheers Martin

on a 65mm pulley about 1 bar.  (0.2 bar more than a stock charger) decent enough gains.

yeah got stuff in.
