Just fired some current in the fan.. that seems to be working fine so think the new switch that was put in last week is a dud... or there is a dodgy wire somewhere!

PeteG40

either new switch is a dud - or often under the switch in the radiator is full of crud

Will strip it out at the weekend and check it out...

I checked it all out today...

The switch it coming on at the right rad temp... but whilst the rad is only reaching 90 degrees for the fan to cut in... the temp gauge is reading 110 as that reading is taken from the Stat housing. that right? then the fan kicks in on speed one and the temp gauge goes back down to around 90...

I have gone and bought a 3 way switch to mount on the dash so i can turn the fan on manually if i want. Also... can you get stats that open at lower temps? and would it be worth changing the black temp sensor on the stat housing.... incase its giving weird readings?

hope that all makes sense!

Car doesn't go over 90 degrees my new switch turned on... woop.

i have bought 2 8" slimline fans gonna put one on the front an one on the back wire them up so one is on at first speed an second comes on with speed 2. well ill see if i can get to do that ha ha.
