Looks a bit like the ones RP-Motorsport used to sell

Yoof

Alex is right, UK cup cars had stock sumps but had windage trays.

scotsjohn

Windage trays; a few have attempted them iirc. Did anyone ever get one off the ground? I reckon they would be a sure fire seller.

I got one and there ok, have to chop them down to fit but i never really had a problem with the oil light/buzzer coming on before and have never had it come on with it fitted. You only really need the trays if your doing track IMO.

I'd be interested in a baffled sump and/or windage tray if anyone fancies knocking a batch up! Didn't duck used to have one in his 235 BHP eaton'd conversion?

Where is he nowadays? Still posting anywhere?

Hmm, maybe I should look into this...

Justin im back in essex at the end of the month for 2 weeks. Want to have a look at mine to make measurements?

Alex

I have a PPP windage tray, it's in my room at my parents' house in Cardiff awaiting a baffled sump. I never did get the baffled sump though.

True story.

hayesey

I've got a PPP one on mine, it's been there for a few years.  Never had any issues with it.  Not sure if it really does anything though :D

ereeiz

I couldn't remember what one did. After reading some random yank forum about muscle cars it seems they're there to break/ distort the vortex created around the crank that stops oil from lubricating the bottom end properly.

Is that correct or have I been subject to some internetingzzz? If it's not true then what's it do mister?

hayesey

also stops the crank getting covered in oil as much so keeps it's weight down.  Can also act as a horizontal baffle in some cases.

Justin14100

Any chance of PPP making any more? perhaps they could make some that include some baffles that hang down into the sump? or do baffles only work when they are in the bottom of the sump?

scotsjohn

I would definitely be interested in a baffled sump, but the welding of a stock item looks pretty tricky. If it's been done before though it could be done again; would be a good group buy item.
