Grant - sorry to hear that.

We haven't received an email from you yet, but if it is a PPP frame, please send photos of the frame and damage to: enquiries@poloperformanceparts.co.uk along with details of when you bought it etc. and we'll sort things out for you.

Andy

Hi Andy sent another email to the address above hope it sends, also yoof emailed me on here today so replied to him too.

Cheers Grant

That tells you how close it is TBH, if Yoof has run 14x6 et 33 no prob and I'm getting slight interference with ET38 there aint alot in it.

Wheel size: 14x6 ET38
Tyre size: 195/45/R14
Wheel weight location: Inside the wheel, not the lip
Rubs: On the wheel lip only, tyre seems OK.  Will knock wheel weights off if placed on inner rim.

Exactly, which is why I'm not at all concerned to be honest. It's a very small issue with an otherwise massive improvement to the car.

Andy

I run 14"x6" ET38, 185/50 R14. I get a small amount of scrubbing on one side, was the same with 13"x5.5" ET38. My current frame is the original prototype, so the "production" frames were given a bit more clearance - but there's a compromise to make with pick-up point position and gearbox clearance.  :-\

Grant - got your email, we'll get back to you by the end of the week once we've spoken to our supplier. Sounds like the pot hole impact broke the weld - I'm still surprised though, as Yoof and I have tried really hard to break our frames in testing!

5mm spacers on the front resolved the scrubbing for me :-)

Yoof

So effectively ET33 now then Chris?

Seems 14x6 ET33 is the magic number...

cheys03

Yup :)

It's weird in the few weeks since fitting the subframe and having to avoid full lock, it now takes concious effort to remember to use the full range of the rack when manoeuvring ::)

Yoof

Fitting guide now here:

I'll upload more pictures soon... Any further hints/tips anyone has whilst fitting frames please let me know and I'll update it to help others.

Cheers

Where are we talking about the wheel scrubbing? In the actual inner arch or the TCA on the stage 3's?
I'm running a stage 2 frame with G-lader blocks, and under hard cornering the drivers wheel will scrub the inner arch, doesn't appear to be on the tyre, but on the inside rim of the wheel.
I'm running BBS Ra443's
Wheel size: 14x6 1/2 ET38
Tyre size: 195/45/R14

Thinking some 10mm hubcentric spacers maybe be in order, but will then have to look at the outer arch!

Running ppp wishbone conv.
175/50/14.  Wheels 14x7 et43? Am pretty sure anyways Brock b5's

Also have standard mk3 Ibiza gti alloys 15x6.5  ( 195/45/15 )
No rubbing... Apart from high intensity driving but was resolved with slight arch rolling.
Down about 70/80mm front n rear on kw suspension

Yoof

Bloody hell Terry! ET43 and no wheel to compression strut contact?  :o

I'll start a list of wheel combinations that touch the compression strut, will give people a better idea if they'll need spacers or not.

djtez

I think it is :s
You've worried me now....
I'll double check and many post a wee pic

djtez

No, I was talking out my arse :(
It's ET25!
why the hell I thought it was 45 a have no idea...many I'm listening to much in the jap scene...
