I know it needs remapping which i plan on getting done shortly although id expect it to run abit better than it does now (slower than a 999cc mk4!) and the inside of the ECU is rather shocking!

i've run a g40 with no belt on it - and its about the same as a normal 1.3 polo.   So if yours is slower than a 1l mk4, then it sounds like its producing no boost from a boost leak or something.

it should be way way way faster that a 1l i love mine its like a rocket ship lol i just cant afford to run the thing

with the missus driving the mk4 when we brought the G home, she could easily leave me behind and no matter what i did (change gear etc), i couldnt catch up! I'm assuming theres more than one bodge to fix as theres probably a leak causing the engine to stall at low revs.

forgot to add, when the belt jumped off far side of peterborough, the engine ran better ??!!
