Guys is a rocker cover gasket on a g40 the same as a standard mk3 polo ???

Etches

You can use the standard mk3 one mate, best one is the metal one off the 6N but you ideally need a head skim to prevent oil seepage over the alternator

Kayag40

Ok mate cheers im doing the head gasket on my 40 ive gr a metal gasket for the head but need a rocker cover gasket so a standard mk3 rocker cover gasket will fit on the 40 mate ye ?

PeteG40

Will fit but not as good. Check the sticky at top of the page

I had a non g40 one once, was a waste of money and it just squished out the sides.

Matty!

Reviving anothe thread...

anyone know where I can get hold of a G40 Rocker Gasket?

If not whats the best 'alternative'

Ben.lopo

I used the same one it had on mine and just put a bit of silicone works fine for me

And as far as I know g40 rocker cover is same size as mk2 polo

SuperMario

Are they obsolete? I have a VW gasket in my tool box  ;D

I found one for other mk2f Polo's eg. for GT engine is too thin for G40 cam cover, resulting in oil leak all over my new engine.

I got the thicker one for the G40 engine from D&A Motor factors (part number: XRK4378) at cost of £31.66, but works perfectly with no leaks or bulging.
