G40 Sitting High
« on: May 09, 2013, 08:14:51 pm »
Hi folks. I was looking for some advice on my front suspension.

My G appears to be sitting high, what's the factory ground clearance for these? You could hide an illegal immigrant family of 7 under the arches.

Also, what colour are the springs? Mine are red, found the code 16029004 on them, which brings up nothing on Google. I've not got close enough to see if there are any other codes on them.

My thinking is that the previous owner has maybe replaced the struts with standard mk2f ones, if they would fit, to make it sit higher.

Struts would be the same dimension surely? Ride height dependant on springs. Having said that, my G always seemed to ride high. On standard setup when I got it, on an alledgedly 60mm drop AVO kit  and the new B12  kit it's got now. It still sits higher than my old G on standard setup.

Took the struts off today, and the spring. it's red with Max 40 100047 43/07 written on it. Am i taking it too literal that that will mean max 40mm drop?
