Has anyone used them before? I didn't reckon they would be competitive but just got a cracking quote from them with any mods aslong as it doesnt exceed 180bhp.

I've heard of them!  I assume they are a broker, do you know who the insurance they've quoted in underwritten by?  It's the underwriters you'll be dealing with if the shit hits the fan.  I've had some brief dealings with Highway Markerstudy who underwrite my policy through Brentacre and they seemed OK to deal with (never actually made a claim though)

Yea the underwriters are markerstudy (never heard of them) apparently one of the guys there is a big vw fan.

best i got was brentacre with £645 £250 excess and upto 150bhp engine mods unlimited body mods.

but these are quoting £498.50 unlimited body mods upto 180bhp and £250  excess. just seems to good to be true. i was asking about everything i could think of and it was like for like the same as what brentacre quoted

sorry, it was Markerstudy I meant in my last message!  Not Highway (who are another underwriter, I think my green polo is through them on a classic policy, via a broker called Graham Sykes).

I've had various policies underwritten by Markerstudy.

Do you still accure no claims bonus on a classic policy? he never mentioned it was a classic policy i better check

mark_crox

you don't normally.. no, but it can vary on insurers.

hayesey

not usually on a proper classic policy but they are usually so cheap it doesn't matter.  I'd have thought they'd have told you though.  Of course, a classic policy is designed for a 2nd car that only get used every now and then.  I had to show proof of ownership of a daily driver to them.

Ah right should be fine then. and i did say daily driver when he questions 12k miles a year

Just rang them back and its a standard policy. over the moon with that quote. HIC who i have been with for atleast 4 out of the 10 years driving wanted over a grand  ???

I'm now with Greenlight, underwritten by Highway (a subsidy of Liverpool Victoria). Had been with Sky (underwritten by Markerstudy) - but Sky were useless in getting a proper agreed value on mine so I didn't renew.

I was with sky on the impreza. were the cheapest by about £500! Never had problems but didnt have to deal with them after i gave them cash
