1994 Polo G40 - Windsor Blue
« on: April 01, 2013, 10:06:38 pm »

I bought this car to build into a daily driver- due to a new house I have lost space on the driveway, as such need to sell. The car has been finished to a standard that I would be happy driving daily to work. It is not concours, but with some attention to the paint, would be a show & shine winner.

Car is now running, will have a fresh MOT on it at some point next week.

Spec:

1994 Polo G40 Coupe - L-Reg
Windsor Blue
Split fold rear seats
146k on the clocks (~96k on the engine, 0k on freshly rebuilt supercharger)
12 Months MOT
Declared SORN

Engine:

PY Engine - 113bhp from factory
Circa 96,000 miles
65mm V-Belt Pulley
PPP Map to suit
Cleaned & refurbished injectors
New waterpump
New cambelt
New Blue temp sender
New boost pipes (silicone) including ISV
New spark plugs
New ignition system: leads, cap, rotor arm & engine earths
New battery
New manifold gaskets (exhaust & inlet)
New header tank
Almost new fan, motor and radiator
New Alternator Wiring Loom
New Bosch Lambda Probe
New Flexi pipe on the exhaust

Supercharger:

Ported to Jabba 'Stage 2' spec (hardly anything)
65mm Pulley
Freshly rebuilt by PeteG40 on here- all bearings/seals replaced
Will require running in!

Transmission:

ATV Gearbox
New Castrol gearbox oil
Almost new CG Motorsports clutch & cable

Brakes:

239mm G40 calipers
New Pagid discs
New Pagid pads
New RBF 600 Brake Fluid

Suspension:

Koni Yellow Adjustable Shocks
Apex -40mm Springs
New Polo Performance Parts Stage 2 Subframe
New Polo Performance Parts Anti-Roll Bar Blocks
New Polo Performance Parts Track Control Arm Bushes

Wheels & Tyres:

Recentley refurbished BBS 13" x 5.5" - new centre caps
Yokohoma A539 - rear approx. 2.5mm front approx 4.5mm

Other:

Toad Alarm (currently disconnected)
Central Locking (currently disconnected)
Boot Popper (currently disconnected)

The above is all currently not working as it's been disconnected- locks still work as normal, key fod for alarm/central locking is present, I've not had time to reconnect the alarm.

Various sets of number plates (show plates)

Bad Bits:

Car requires some attention to the paint (I will put pictures up). Problems are:

50p sized scab of rust on boot
Top of front wings has had paint removed after previous owner masking taped them
Slam panel rusty - needs repaint
Roof has some dimples in laquer- have been told this will wet sand out.
Chassis has had repair done to legs (see build thread) this isn't a problem, but worth noting.

Location:

Car is near Gaydon, Warwickshire.

I can trailer to most areas of the UK for a fair price.

Car has brand new brakes and a freshly refurbished charger, both of which require running in- please bare this in mind if wanting to testdrive.

Price:

£2650ono

Any questions please ask- I'll upload some photos of the car once it's had a wash/wax in the week.

Cheers

Peter

Gave it a quick clean when I got home from work- took the best pics I can of all the areas of paint which aren't mint.

Colour in the sun is awesome:

Bad Bits:

Sill pushed up with jack- I think this will push back out, hasn't broken the underseal and will pass MOT:

Small rust scab underneath filler cap:

Drivers door :

Stone chips on bonnet:

Rust on front panel:

Front Drivers wing masking tape:

Boot scab:

Boot lacquer peel:

Boot scab #2:

Mark on passenger door:

Scab windscreen passenger side:

Passenger side wing masking tape:

Dots on the roof - these are really hard to photograph...

I'll remove the battery tomorrow and take a picture of the tray - As you can see from the photos the car cleans up very well, and with some minor paint love would look really good.

I'll clean the wheels tomorrow and take close up pics of them too, and the interior.

Cheers

Pete

Put a fresh set of tappets in tonight, much nicer now. Ran out of daylight for pictures of battery tray, but here's pics of the wheels after a clean:
