Good Mk2 G40 setup
« on: November 23, 2008, 04:51:49 pm »
I've been wondering for a while what spring + shock combo to use on the project car (Mk2 squareback with G40 running gear). I've got a PPP wishbone conversion coming for this. I'm after something that handles well, and not too hard or low, 40mm drop max.

I've heard that the Eibach / Bilstein setup is good, where would I get these + roughly how much would I be expecting to pay?

I already have set of G40 springs, also set of spax -40mm jobs - anyone got any experience of these?

Anyone give me some pointers?

spax are pretty hard to be honest.

Eibachs/konis are very very good, but not very low probably 5mm lower than std g40 spring... which I also rate with koni dampers.

Yeah I used to have a spax kit on. I replaced the springs with a set of Apex ones and the ride increased big time! Was glad I got rid of them.

Cheers guys.

I guess I'm looking for some Eibachs + Konis

Where's a good place to get these from?
