Im going to be running my car at Santa pod a couple of times next year have been looking into getting some drag slicks but the mt drag slicks in 20-6-14 are discontinued they list 20-8-14 which maybe usable with a wider wheel. hoosier dunlop  and M and H don't list useable sizes.

Just wondered if any one knew of any other decent drag tyres that would be worth using ?i considered the mt street radial in 205/50/14 but at £350 a pair are they that much better than  a trackday tyre like the r888 or A048?

will be running a 25 shot of nitrous aswell on the day. so should have 210-220 bhp

I've never tried drag slicks but by all accounts they are a world apart from even track day tyres.  To be honest, some people have said those track day tyres are worse than normal road tyres such as a539 because you need to get heat built up into them before they grip (which I certainly know is true from track days - always do a warm up lap!).

Drag slicks are a different league. Circuit slicks and trackday tyres are designed to undergo a lot more heat cycles and wear than drag radials - so you have to get them warm to get them to grip, and doing a burnout isn't enough.

20-6-14 MTs have been discontinued for ages, but I tracked down a place in Devon with 4 left - so Robin and I had 'em! Yoof runs the 8" wide ones on some Weller steelies with spacers though, so that's the route I'd go down.

just got in contact with said place in devon and thread 8" wide ones are discontinued aswell :( seems like i may only have the option of mt street radials which kinda sucks

They should be able to sort you out.

Failing that still loads in a 13" fitment.
