10mm allen key for charger adjustment
« on: November 17, 2012, 06:52:07 pm »
Hi, just a quick one, my charger belt snapped, haven't had the car long so pretty new still
but when my belt snapped i tried to adjust the charger which was pretty straight forward, until i got to the 10mm allen key, i think mine is the wrong way round, its impossible to get onto! the bracket that mounts the charger to the exhaust manifold is in the way. which i cant get off because a 12mm is to small for one of the bolts but a 13mm is too big and there is no room!
so my question is, is the 10mm allen key supposed to go from left and thread to the right, or start on the right and thread to the left like mine
many thanks Taylor

yuou take the t peice off with 13mm swan neck spanners.

then the 10mm allen goes from right to left.

If you slice a good bit off the short reach of the  Allen Key, you can get to the bolt head without removing the T piece.

Ok, mine is the right way then.
i did think a swan neck spanner, but it wouldnt matter, as like i said, a 13mm is massive and a 12mm is too small, its not rounded off so i think its been replaced, with an imperial bolt or something lol

that is a genius idea! a ground down 10mm allen key would be perfect. thanks very much :)
i just wont be grinding my snap on 10mm down haha
thanks again Taylor
