Hi there, did an oil change and also changed dash loom for a new one but now the oil light is buzzing but only when revving, has anyone has had this problem?

hayesey

is the dash loom from the same age car as yours?  The wiring changed later on and there's only one oil pressure sensor on later ones.

Gilly

dash loom is from a 1994 polo on a k reg, my polo is a 1991 on a h

hayesey

yes then the loom will be from one with a single pressure sensor.  You'll need to clocks to match really.  Or run your own wire from the 2nd sensor to the correct pin on the back of the clocks.

Gilly

excellent cheers for your help, ill run a wire from the second sensor to the clocks :)

hayesey

I think there's a pin-out diagram for the clocks connector in the electronics FAQ section somewhere which will tell you which pin to use.

Gilly

got it, pin 24......cheers for putting that up, a great help

Gilly

hayesey, which switch do i run the wire from? ones a high pressure and one is low?

hayesey

not sure off the top of my head.  Have you got a haynes manual there?  See which sensor goes to which pin on the back of the clocks.  The wires from the sensors go directly into the clocks.

My g40 dose that when u rev it up the light and buzzer gose on and stays on, loom is original :/

Checked the sensors to see if they're working? From memory one is for <2.5k RPM and the other for >2.5k RPM, although that may be mk2 golf.
Someone had that on here not long ago and turned out to be a dodgy set of clocks. Everything fails sometime!
