G40 gear box

Looking for a G40 gear box 8P

8p is 1.3 SPI 5 speed box

ATV or CEH are g40 box's

Although the CEH box is a late spec and needs a shorter driveshaft fitted with later G40's

But i suspect you can use the Ibiza small block driveshafts.. possibly!

Or you can swap the driver's side gearbox shaft flange on the CEH for your ATV item.
Not me that worked this out btw... think it was Nick_S/Hayesey??

I have a gearbox, it's £200 and it's in chester.

Richg40... can you PM some details please? Turns out mine is an 8P 085 standard 5 speed 1.3 Polo box. Which do you have? Thanks... James.

It's a G40 box with 106k miles, been dry stored for bout two years.

Rich is saying his box is a genuine G40 box ( ATV box code )
which is hard to get a hold of and costly

It fits exactly same as 8P box.

and the ATV has the better proper ratio's!

Correct except the CEH is the late Polo GT gearbox. CEK is the one your after

To be fair he has got it advertised at £250 and hasn't edited that post since April. Maybe he got it wrong first time round and didn't want to take the hit after making a mistake. I've met him and he's pretty straight up. I'd PM him to find out.
