Factory paint is usually pretty hard (as long as it's not been re-finished in the past - it doesn't sound like it), which is good news as what you need is a 'power polish'. T-Cut is all good, but the shade you bring up can vary throughout the car depending on your arm strength! The best results would come from the power polish (basically using a specialist electric buffer.) I reckon if you went to a bodyshop and asked them, they'd buzz over it for a few quid. They basically use T-cut (which has a cutting compound in it), but better (usually 3M gear) in two different grades (coarse & fine) with two different mops materials too, and pull the very thin top layer of original paint off, exposing the true colour underneath, they buff it from there with a decent polish. You could do the polish op yourself by hand once.

It'll look like a different car ;)

once the power polish has been done.

Whoops! must use the preview button!

i use klasse all in one, not half as abrasive as t-cut and a detailing machine.  Once back to red protect it well with a sealer and wax

Av had experience in tornado red Gt's being quite bad..

depends what type of polisher you can get your hands on!

If this is just a once every now and again job then go into your local machine mart or even some Tool place..

Purchase a Silverline Rotary polisher.. or if your really not confident a Dual action (DA) polisher which might i add doubles the labour hours but can achieve the same standard!

I like to use meguires 105 (cutting) and 205 (refining) compound
use plenty water or i use spray detailer..
watch some you tube videos or ask on here for more detail..

or just simply go to local body shop ask for a buff (£100) at a guess for full paint restore
then use (auto glym) super resin polish  'in my opinion best hand polish to date'
