bar tek tuning
« on: November 26, 2011, 06:14:42 pm »
im after some toothed pullies and these offer pulleys in a range of sizes 55mm, 60mm, 65mm and 70mm. Im not too keen on the 55 or 70 but i was wondering would a 60 be too small anyone had any experiences with them etc would a 60 be a good purchase or would the 65 be better?

Its pretty unknown territory really, a few people played with the idea before but unsuccessfully (steve pit and co.) they had problems with the oil seals & the top bearing.
I personally think it can be done but you need 3 things:
Viton charger seals (they have a higher temperature range than the cheaper Nitrile seals) <- Pete sells them on here.
High RPM top bearings (http://www.bar-tek-tuning.com/lshop,showdetail,28272,en,1312484027-28327,g-lader.1132925576,1100007,9,Tshowrub--g-lader.1132925576,.htm) I contacted them about this bearing and it should be good for up to 18,000rpm internal charger speed
Stand Alone Oil Supply, this will cut down the pressure on the seals and reduce the temperature as well (possibly only a negligible amount though) as the friction of the seals on the main shaft will get very high at these huge RPMs
I'd only want to run it through a paper filter too, but I like my charger internals to be clean and dirt free.
