Hi guys and girls...

i have a problem

help is needed ASAp..

I drove up to see some freind slast night who live about an hour and half away... i got there fine and switched off.. when coming bk out to start the car.. it starte didling bit funny.. than settled.. i let the car warm up and than when about to move off i hear a noise like a very loud rattle ro vibration of some sort when the car is between 1-2k revs.. i opened the bonnet and couldnt see anything out of the norm but th enosie is coming from the charger area.. any help guys?? advice of what it could be??
im located in e.london so any specialists around here?? bit worried about driving it any where... and not that emchaniclaly minded to look myself... i will try and warm it up and record the nocie and location but ha any one any idea what it could be?? have i killed the charger?? it stop smaking nosie after 2k.. and drives fine after...

does it have toothies fitted. I once had one of the guide rails on the pullies come loose and it sounded very bad!

hey buddie.. whats a toothie?? new to g40s.. had n/a engine smost my life... loved vr6s...
its got a smalley pulley on it too...

look at the charger drive belt(s), if it's two thin v-belts on a smooth pulley then it's standard.  If it's a wider toothed belt which looks like a cam belt then it has a toothed belt conversion.

It's a bit hard for anyone to diagnose what a random noise might be but if it's from the charger area then I'd be careful.  If everything around there seems tight and nothing clearly rattling around then remove the charger.  See if you can rotate it easily and if you can hear anything.  Then to be honest, you'll need to send it off somewhere.  G-Werks or Jabbasport would be the best places.

k will have alook.. or will try record the sound and put it up if that helps... not that mechanically minded..so didnt wanna take it of myself... but scared of driving it any where...
