Dash Speaker options
« on: August 20, 2011, 12:41:38 pm »
I can't take it anymore the old std speakers are all farting and rasping away in the dash and parcel shelf mounts. I know what 6x4's will fit (any) but the std size (10cm?) dash speakers are a bit of a headache from memory due to the awkward depth.

Can anyone recommend some that are shallow enough to fit in there under the std grille? Direct links to buy them are preferred. I was looking at these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vibe-Black-Hex-4-10cm-Coaxial-Car-Speakers-BH4-/280633649123?pt=UK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_Car_Speakers_PP&hash=item415711a7e3#ht_1517wt_1199 which is a bit more than I wanted to spend really, I kinda had £20 in mind, but I'd rather pay a little more for something if I can turn it up louder before distorting (got an Alpine head unit that puts 50w out per speaker) I know I could do with an amp (which I have) but can't be arsed wiring that in under the dash and hav a fear of it setting on fire anyway haha.

Bear in mind I drive quickly on the motorway daily with the sunroof/ windows open so it HAS to be able to go loud so I can still hear radio1 :D lol otherwise I'd get any old shit things.

Alot more than £20 but you get what you pay for in this case:

I'm realy happy with these, they fit under the std covers without lifting them up. If anybody wants I'll post a few picks of how I fitted mine.
