gearbox troubles

hi guys, went for a drive in the g yesterday and the gearbox started getting stiff, i thought nothing of it and kept going untill i got stuck in 4th and came to a halt on a hill, couldnt get it out of gear and needded to be towed home

knackerd gearbox?

might just be the clutch? Although presumably you can't get it out of gear with the engine off?

nar i got underneath the car and tried pulling it out of gear by hand but it wouldn't budge

Sounds like an internal problem to me. Layshaft bearing or something.

is that fixable or would it be a better idea to get a new gearbox?

Get some quotes for a rebuild. Should be looking around £400+
