any ideas? ???

Supercharger wind?

Do you mean Whine? Or do you mean there's a drop in boost? i.e. lack of "wind".

could just be the belts are worn and have lost tension.

hole in your intercooler maybe

johnyG40

As it still has the power is there any reason for concern?

My guess would be the belts too. You got the std twin Vee belts or toothed ones? Mine sounded really good for about ten miles after tensioning them (think it's 120 NM for new, 80Nm for worn belts according to Haynes manual- insert the torque wrench into the slot in front of the pulley). then they slacked off and started slipping. Got toothed belts on it now and not so sure I like the noise yet.

yeh its got the standard v belts i will try and tension them up thanks.

Do you reckon getting a toothed kit on it is a good idea, as its running at around 150bhp.

I would say yes as it's harder/ not very likely that the belt would "slip" or jump, where a V-belt relies on tension to rotate, the toothed belt just hooks into a gear and gets pulled round.

There's a couple of sets on here 2nd hand for about £180-£200 and the club does belts for £14ish, I think yoof has a set-up in his breaking advert.

ok thanks for the info ereeiz.

but if the belts are fine then should i be worried.

I shouldn't think so, just check the adjustment bolts are done up correctly and not loose. I noticed mine makes a lot more noise when it's cold (I mean whine/ induction noise) first thing in the morning about 5am, but I just put it down to everything being tighter when cold (contracts) and denser air.
