Who to get a gearbox reconditioned with
« on: May 23, 2011, 10:31:14 am »
My two local gearbox rebuilders just quoted me £530 and £560 plus the vat. Is it me or does that sound very expensive?

I have herd mixed reviews of JPRace but when they quote £250 i think i might as well get them to do it.

What do you think?

did they give any details of exactly what they do for that much money? It sounds a hell of a lot.

Any other places in your local area?  Where abouts are you anyway?

hmm sounds rather a lot.  JP can't possibly replace all the bearings for £250 though, the parts alone would come to almost that I'm sure.  Unless they use some very cheap bits.  I know Andy was less than impressed with his JP rebuilt box, it didn't last long at all before it started rattling.
