Setting vervier pulleys? A tip please!
« on: May 04, 2011, 04:30:26 pm »
I am talking about a AFH 16v head.
I have a hydraulic tappet version camshaft and cat cams pinned vernier pulleys for the AFH.

The proccess:

1) I am fitting a TDC dial gauge at cyl #1, I bring the piston at TDC and set dial gauge at zero.

2) I am fitting the (camshaft) dial gauges at cyl #4 and fit them so the edge of the gauge touches the tappet and set the dial gauge zero too.

3)Then, according with the camshaft info paper I find the part that says valve lift at TDC (in my case it is 1,2mm), I unbolt the little screws and I turn the camshaft anticlockwise till the cam dial gauge shows 1,2mm.

4) I follow the step #3 for the other camshaft pulley.

Am I doing something wrong?
