Cheers for your help guys.

Just one more whilst im on a role, on the top plastic boost pipe there is a valve which looks like some form of airflow sensor. I haven't got one of these so I need to buy one, can someone please let me know what it is called and where the best/cheapest place it to get one from.

Thanks again

Gav

it's usually just called a CO-pot but it actually contains the CO-pot and also an inlet air temp sensor.

Cheers fella.

I cant seem to find any on the net anywhere, would any body know a serial number for one of these as it would aid my search massively. Or should I just go to vw and see how much they are from there.

yeah since the part only appears on a g40 you're only likely to find one for sale on here, ebay or VW really.

Are they going to be an expensive part with being just g40 specific.

not really sure you'll have to ring vw if there are none on ebay.  try ebay.de too

VW have only just made these obsolete in April so i cant get one from there apart from any old stock they have.

They were £71.41 each and the part number is 037906040B

Just for any one else that may be interested.

It's on G60's too according to google search results. I can't get on half the sites due to filters at work but take a look, I just put the above part no on its own into google.co.uk

This comes up for ebay.de, again I can't see it though, gets blocked. Apologies if it's no good!

On the engine block at the top on the back there are two sensors that just have a single spade connector on the end.

Is the wiring for these sensors in the loom that comes from the ecu through the bulkhead or is it a separate thing all together. The loom that I have has nothing on it to relate to these two sensors. Can anyone shed some light on this for me.

They are oil pressure sensors, there should be connections in the loom for them usualy with rubber boots that go over the single spade

Cheers fella. this is the link to my post about my loom, think i may get rid of it and try to find another one.

http://www.polog40.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,5950.0.html

There is nothing on my loom for any oil pressure sensors.

Its like problem after bloody problem now.

I've filled the gearbox oil and that's now bloody dripping. Its coming out from where the gear selector arm comes out of the box. Its about a drip every 5-10 mins but I can imagine once i get the car running and it gets hot the oil will thin and start to run out. Is there an oil seal there that can be replaced easily or is it a case of removing the gearbox to do it?
