My First post on the car...

Ok so I am happy to introduce Bluey

Spotted this on Facebook:

Found it on Googlemaps with the help of a mate Left him a note on the windscreen and then bought it!
So picked it up on monday with LOTS of plans!
Its a 1994 M-Plate Arctic Blue Polo Parade - 1litre 4speed on 31k.

Here's the night I picked it up:

Got a set of Ally Cats on it 13*7&8's on:

Got it on the ramps and was amazed how immaculate it is underneath and in the bay!

Work today...
-Full polish
-Tints Removed
-G40 Interior and Arch Trims picked up

more progress to follow shortly... engine needs more work before it goes in!

cheers for reading

Then Engine work...

So list of works for the weekend read as follows;

- G40 engine* (spec below) (VAG Cambelt and Water Pump fitted before dropping it in)
- G40 Rose Jointed Steering Arms
- G40 Steering Damper
- G40 ARB (with polybushes)
- Wheel Bearings
- Top Mounts (note in pics below now sitting flush to turrets... we'l see how long that lasts!)
- Replace Struts/Dampers swap springs

So... 1litre SPI out...

G40 Lump

Charger

Inlet, TB, Injection

Going In...

And In...

Then Saf fell asleep doing the ARB bolts and all hell broke loose as the Lithuanian House Goat emerged from the darkness and escaped in to the night...

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.........................

The goat escaping TWICE is my excuse for not getting it running at the weekend but should be roaring this eve all being welll... hit a few unexpected snagging points on the loom and gear linkage...

Quick Rolling Shot

Injector jackets lightly wasted at present as the exhaust is blowing so you wouldnt stand a chance of hearing the injectors ha! Made the mistake of trying to clean the last set and the centres swelled slighlty making it near impossible to close the casing!

hey dan - yeah still got the black one tucked away... about a year ago I did the HG and a decent service and then the charger oil seals packed in a week later so decided to focus on my mk1 polo... so the G got put to one side for a while! But I've been collecting parts and work is starting soon... much more clued up on them now cos I always used to be a bit scared to work on it! Basically bought bluey so that I can go mad with this and get the black G back to OEM+ just gonna be 14" Ra's, bigger brakes, stage 3 subby and enjoy for now! you still rocking the white beast?

I have got some 14x6 ra's for sale at the moment I have 5 alloys 4 with Yokohama A539 with less than 500 miles on and the spare has a budget. The four on the car are a slighter darker grey than normal check the 14x6 bbs ra's in parts for sale for pics. The spare has been paint stripped and is white?!

Looking for 300 let me know if your interested.

Jake.
