It began with my clutch starting to get stiff and become a problem so i changed the clutch cable even though it hadn't long had a new one and it was sweet for maybe a week untill it got stiff again, so i waited untill the weekend came and took the box off to see if there was any signs of wear on the fork arm or the release bearing and so on but there wasn't so i regreased it all and put it back together as the clutch looked fine too. Replaced the pedal box for a new one on Friday, the old one was cracked and bent! This morning i pressed the clutch and its bent the pedal again so the only thing left to change would be the pressure plate i assume, can the springs harden or is that not something that can happen?

Thanks.

The clutch pedal on my G40 was very stiff when I first had it. It sorted itself out when I changed the friction plate and release bearing after it started slipping. I still have the original cover plate on it. There was no free movement (towards the front of the car) on the clutch operating arm when the friction plate was worn down. I put the difference in pedal feel down to the angles that the clutch arm, diaphragm spring fingers etc. sit at when the clutch is worn out.

i did all this and what cured mine was grease on the cable where it attaches to the pedal box! (this was after replacing clutch and cable!!!)

Usually when all else fails, greasing the splines on the input shaft with a bit of moly grease cures this.

Ive literally changed everything possible now, im seriously considering fucking it off. Ive had 2 years of loving it but now it just racks me off constantly! Its had like i said new pedal box, new clutch (pressure plate and release bearing too), new cable, fully greased and the pedal is still so hard its ridiculous.

I used to have this problem.. Drove me nuts.  Hated driving it. I think I had a new clutch and bearing and that sorted it, including greasing everything as you have... I feel your pain, a soft clutch can make a car worth driving.

If the clutch, release bearing etc. seem ok I'd be looking at the input shaft going out of alignment. Bearing wear or collapse maybe?
