Pretty sure any 8v 6n one is the same.

I thought it had to be from an 8v MPI 6n, as the SPI ones use different trigger wheels?

I got one from a mk3 polo, m reg, would that be fine to use? It looks the same as the g40 one.

No, you need a gt/g40 one or a 6n one (possibly mpi only, I'm not sure). Normal mk3 one has a different hall sender trigger wheel

If you have a working SPI dizzy spare and a G40 dizzy with knackered hall sender, you could make a frankendizzy with a GT/G40 trigger wheel and SPI shell & hall sender. Half man, half monster.

AEX does, that's the 1.4 8v.  No idea what the other codes are.

So if I get a dizzy from gsf for an aex it will bolt straight on and does the same job as the gt/g40 one ?

yeah although not sure it'd be any cheaper than going in and buying a brand new G40 dizzy, people normally use the 6n ones because they are easy to find in scrapyards.

the correct 6N dizzy has the code AB at the end, the full part number is on Clubpolo on the faq thread ' does your GT have the right dizzy '

The AEE & AEA has the right dizzy from memory, unless the two engines we got had different dizzys from standard fitted

6n coil is the same part for G40, the old mk3 coil was superseded by the 6n one.  The 6 pin one is different and not for a g40, it's only for the engine codes you list.
