Yep there's always one thats faster! (I'm not trying - 170 -180bhp is enough for me hehe). Did you guys see the super slo-mo vids? Sooo cool. 8)

Hell yeah, that's a beast for sure :o
However, like etches said it's not really much of a Polo anymore. That's what makes Yoof's such an absolute stonker. To all intents and purposes it is still a proper Polo. It has the original type engine and transmission layout, completely standard looking bodywork, an interior and can still turn in a 12.5 sec 1/4 mile with just a few tweeks to raise the rear suspension and a set of radial slicks on the front. Put the suspension back down and fit the other wheel/tyre combo and it's a proper track day weapon. I'd like to see that mk1 turbo drag car do that.

Yep. But to be fair, it's an interesting exercise in taking FWD drag thing to its logical conclusion - i like the wheelie bars - i guess to hold the front wheels down!
For myself, my own inspiration if from both yours and Yoofs, but just aiming for a nice quick road car, and maybe to use on occaisonal track days....

Quickest UK FWD car?

Think so, didn't that chap used to have a blue Maestro with 400bhp+? If so the machine shop in Bawtry do the odd bit for him, remember matey saying about it when he was building the Red MG.

The orange Tigra PB is 10.9s and the MG is 10.2  8) Serious times!

To be fair, out of all the top euro sport compacts, this Corsa:

Looks most like a road car.
