hello hello,
following the success of the G40 Peaks Rally and stand at VWNW we are on about a rolling road day at Aldon Automotive. This is in Brierley Hill in the West Midlands.
http://www.aldonauto.co.uk/shop/We are suggesting a saturday in November as its before the xmas rush and after the show season when people might have a lull.
Why Aldon? -
Location
Its quite central in the UK - people from North/South/East/West can get there quite easily. The car park can hold plenty of cars for people running or just turning up to watch! There's also a sandwich van that comes round and shops etc nearby for food.
Facilities
People moan about rolling roads giving false readings, operators not respecting your car etc etc. The road at aldon in my experience, and many other members, reads realistic with standard 100bhp 16v polos coming out at 101bhp etc and standard g40s coming out around 120bhp etc. They will rev it to what you want, will re-run for a small cost if you found out there was a problem with your car (split boost hose etc) and are generally very accomodating.
We need 15-20 cars to have the road for the day and it should be £20-25 per power run. The club will pay a deposit to book once the number look good. However if people don't turn up etc. then we lose it (sorry to be negative, but that's the way things are!)
So - anyone interested??
